35028 Clan Line Takes a Devonshire Drenching. Torbay Express 3Sep17

Clan Line's second duty on the Torbay Express is greeted by even worse weather than it's first as an Atlantic Gale moves in to signal the end of the Summer holidays. Only very slightly sheltered from the weather I have to hang on to the camera as 35028 rounds Langstone Rock and makes her way along the sea wall through Dawlish Station and into the tunnel below. Luckily for the crew and passengers alike, it was not high tide, otherwise the experience could have been more like the events I filmed in 2012 see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FENr4Ak9AQA&t=1s . Having dried everything out during the afternoon, I chose to go undercover for the return through Torre Station where 35028 gives us a wonderful display of sight and sound as she powers up Torre Bank and heads away towards the summit at Lawes Bridge. What an impressive beast this loco is, it will be good to catch her again.... in fine weather hopefully!
