Poor visibility brought about by a thick Dartmoor mist ruined my shots of the down leg to Plymouth. Luckily conditions improved for the return to Bristol. An audience of 3 of South Devon(s) finest males lie in relaxed contemplation as we see and hear 46100 Royal Scot and 45231 The Sherwood Forester get "stuck-in" to the 1 in 42 climb of Hemerdon Bank. Due to a late start out of Plymouth it was touch-and-go whether I would be "bowled" by the "down" service train and as you see, it was close! At Stoke Canon the overcast conditions allowed a "wrong side" shot as the train tears past on it's way to Taunton for a short stop. Spare a thought for the passengers who were not scheduled to return to Solihull until the early hours of Thursday!
