Modest Mouse - Interstate 8 (1996) EP REVIEW

Formed in 1993 in Issaquah, WA by Isaac Brock, Eric Judy and Jeremiah Green (alongside an early rotating list of collaborators), Modest Mouse has become one of the most iconic indie rock bands of the last 30 years. Finding their footing through a series of loose, very lo-fi demo cassettes, an album recorded in 1994 that was shelved until 2001 and a series of 7" singles, Modest Mouse made their mark in 1996 with their debut album This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About. 4 months after this album, the band released the Interstate 8 EP, a distinctly important release in their history for furthering their sound towards the direction of their later albums such as The Lonesome Crowded West and The Moon & Antarctica. Today, we're going to take a look at it.
