Freezing panes will allow us to freeze certain sections of the spreadsheet, usually a header and one or two columns, so that we can navigate around the rest of the sheet without getting lost.

When we freeze panes, we "lock" rows and columns along the top and left side of our spreadsheet, so that they stay static when we are scrolling around.

Freezing panes in Excel is a basic skill that will improve all of your models.

If you'd like to learn more, I built a business-focused Excel course on Udemy that is stripped down to the core functions for being an analyst. The objective is to get people to the power-user level quickly. I've included a discounted link above.

The course is about 2 hours and includes things like:

-completely abandoning the mouse to increase speed 3X
-data manipulation & visualization
-conditional statements & pivot tables
