Authentic Carne Asada Tacos

Carne Asada simply translates to "grilled meat". This preparation is a nod to what's considered an authentic carne asada recipe. You'll find variations of it everywhere in Latin America, but the base ingredients, at least for the marinade, pretty much remain the same. In this video, I thinly slice the grilled meat and use it to make tacos, which is my favorite way to enjoy carne asada. Pair it with your favorite salsa and some Queso Fresco or Cotija cheese. You'll love it!

AUTHENTIC CARNE ASADA RECIPE
Beef Loin Flap Meat (Skirt or Flank work too) - about 2 lbs or 1kg)
Lime Juice - from 2 limes
Orange Juice - from one orange
Garlic Paste - from 3 cloves
Soy Sauce - 2 Tbsp. (1 oz. or 28g)
Dark Agave Syrup - 2 Tbsp. (1 oz. or 28g)
Ground Ancho Chile - 2 tsp.
Mexican Oregano - 1 tsp.
Ground Cumin - 1/2 tsp.
Ground Black pepper - 1/4 tsp.
Kosher or Sea Salt - 1 tsp.
Olive Oil - 1/3 Cup (2.6 oz. 74g)
Medium Yellow Onion - 1 each
