Tina Turner ~ What's Love Got To Do With It 1983 Soul Purrfection Version

At the time, the last time I had seen Tina was her Acid Queen performance in the movie "Tommy" and never forgot the image of her dark side in her portrayal. That stayed with me for a long time until 1982 or so she was a guest vocalist on this UK compilation. She did "Ball Of Confusion" and made it her own, next was her cover of the Al Green classic "Let's Stay Together" and that was excellent!

Apparently those two songs led to her career renaissance LP, "Private Dancer" that included it and a little song entitled "What's Love Got To Do With It" gave her her first #1 song. Everyone knows her story because she is an icon. We were always rooting for her and she finally arrived in grand style with the urban styled album.

We know Tina had garbage in her personal life and she used that in her vocal performances and selection of music. This one is almost dreamlike and the video was perfect for her, walking and singing in the hood coming across the situations in the song with the residents.

I thought that it would make a nice change of pace to get this Tina tune out there.
