Curtis Mayfield ~ We Got To Have Peace 1971 Soul Purrfection Version

The K-Tel Record company knew their market....back in the late 60's to early 70's there was a proliferation of advertising on late night TV, who were mostly kids disobeying the nightly curfew. Shows like Creature Feature or Chiller led into "The Ghoul" who with his Fred Flintstone Buffalo fur had and willingness to do things like make mashed patoogles by putting raw potatos on the ground and then stomping on the kept the kids choking from not being able to laugh out loud.

They ran a K-Tel commercial to death, it played every break, sometimes played twice in a row so they imprinted the music on your brain and you had to head off to K-Mart record department to pick up a copy.

This one was called "Souled Out" and I have set about remixing every song on that album and I am pretty damn close to finishing it. This was the first time I heard Curtis Mayfield sing this one. It was a natural to remix....I'm lovin that wah wah guitar and the message Curtis wants to get across to you.
