Delicious Mangalore Bun-Banana Bun) Breakfast/Snacks
Mangalore Bun-Banana Bun
It’s soft , fluffy & delicious slightly sweetness from the ripe bananas
Always served for breakfast or on an evening snack
Ingredients
3 big ripe bananas mashed
2 tbsp powdered sugar/2 tbsp Jaggery (you can increase as per your taste)
1 cup sour yogurt
1 tbsp ghee/oil
2 pinch baking soda
3.5 cups all purpose flour/Maida (sieved)
1/1 tsp salt
2 tsp toasted cumin seeds
Method
-In a wide mixing bowl mix all the dry ingredients flour, salt, sugar, baking soda, cumin seeds,
-Now add sour yogurt, mashed ripe bananas
-Mix all together begin to knead, dough is going to be sticky so add little flour or as needed, add ghee/oil & knead to a smooth dough mix you can add ghee/oil , cover and set aside for 6 hours to fermentation overnight
-After 6 hours dust some flour as needed lightly knead the dough again
-Divide in to big lemon size balls
Dust the rolling board with a flour well and roll out to thick Poori (check my video) don’t roll them very thin
-Heat oil in a deep kadai.
Once the oil is hot drop one bun at a time keep gently pressing them using a slotted spatula & they will puff up nicely (check my video)
-Flip on the other side & fry till it is golden on both sides
-Transfer it to a paper towel to absorb any access oil
-Repeat the process for the remaining buns/poori
