The principle of specificity - undoubtly one of if not the single most important concept in training - derives from the observation that the adaptation of the body is specific to the type of training undertaken. Generally speaking, I think we can all agree that no matter which discipline or type of training you choose, wether you’r a bodybuilder, weight lifter, cyclist or calisthenics athlete - you have to be specific to the goals you set. In strength training specificity creates the base for all the other principles by situating at the very bottom of the pyramid. So, no, the title of this video is not a clickbait. What if I told you this - most important concept, the base of all training and staple of sports success, might also be whats holding you back from making better calisthenics improvements?
