PTSD Tips: Coping with Trauma #shorts

If you've gone through a traumatic event there is no one right way to cope, but sticking to your routine and reaching out for support could be helpful steps. Hear from Dr. Laura Erickson-Schroth Chief Medical Officer and JED Expert on tips for coping after a traumatic event. Dr. Laura Erickson-Schroth says sticking to routines helps to feel normal, and letting go of unnecessary to-do's helps you process and work through your emotions. Do things that help create calm in your life, such as stopping to breathe, sitting out in the sun, or listening to mellow music. Remember that whatever you are feeling is okay, and to use your support system — lean on friends and family if you can in order to talk about what's happening or what has happened.
