Woodturning: Turning Colored Pencils - A Very Colorful Bear Girls Christmas

It’s a Christmas Two-Fer! In this video I cast colored pencils with epoxy resin to create a Christmas gift for the other members of my business, Bear Track Studios, LLC. People usually just refer to us as “The Bear Girls” so I thought I should introduce you to rest of the Bear Track gang and see if, based on their artwork, you can correctly choose who got which project.

Marie Rust is a wildlife artist and works in colored pencils and ink. She works from her own photography so is able to utilize that skill in her artwork. She is an avid birder and her writing and artwork has been featured in national birding magazines. She has nearly completed a Michigan Big Year and the North Country Trail 100 mile hike challenge. Lori Taylor is a mixed media artist, author, and illustrator. She took advantage of the Covid shutdown and began combining her layered mixed media collage style work with her love of all things books, and is creating simply amazing mixed media book art pieces full of handmade paper, eco dyed fabric, vintage bits and bobs and pieces of her original art.
