Jon Astley - Put This Love To The Test (1988)

Best known for his first (moderate? underground? used in a ketchup commercial?) single, "Jane's Getting Serious," Jon Astley's second album delivered this favorite. Unlike "Jane" this one sticks to a straight 4/4 beat, none of the quirky stops and changes of the first hit, but makes up for it with his unique vocal delivery, and lyrics that are tame - even cute - today, but quite possibly kept it from getting mainstream airplay in the US in 1988.
