Duane Eddy - Theme For Something Really Important (1987)

One of the coolest, and least-likely surprises of the '80s was how The Art of Noise revived the career of Tom Jones after having him guest on their cover of Prince's "Kiss." But a couple years earlier, they had worked with legendary guitarist Duane Eddy on a recording of the Peter Gunn Theme - and while Duane may not have gotten quite the recognition that Tom Jones did, he sparked enough interest to get signed to Capitol, and put out an album featuring collaborations with The Art of Noise, Paul McCartney, Ry Cooder, and my own personal Musical Hero, Jeff Lynne!

Jeff wrote and produced 3 songs on the album - including this one, which has all the telltale signs of a Jeff Lynne production - from the instantly recognizable snare drum, to the wall-of-sound instruments, Jeff creates a great environment for Duane to do what he does best!
