Vision, Tension, Ranges of Motion, and the Left AIC Right BC Right TMCC Patterns.
There is nothing that will hold you into a stronger Left AIC, Right BC, Right TMCC pattern than a visual system that isn't functioning properly.
To change this gentleman's range of motion, stretching the hip flexors will not work. Stretching the hamstrings will not work. Stretching the pecs will not work. The "sleeper stretch" for the posterior shoulder capsule will not work. The only thing that will improve his range of motion is keeping one eye closed. When both eyes are open, his brain restricts his range of motion. With one eye is closed, his brain does not restrict his range of motion.
I can't say for sure what is going on. Most likely his right and left eye aren't working as a team. Perhaps this is a binocular vision issue. It's definitely a "brain" issue. His visual clarity might play a role, and he did have Lasik surgery.
All I do know is that his vision is restricting his movement in such a way that he will have to move and breathe in compensation. All of these compensations cause joint and muscle pain eventually. That is why he came to see me.
