‘Game’s up’ for Andrews and this time he can’t ‘spin or bully it away’: Peta Credlin

Sky News host Peta Credlin says Victorians deserve the truth about what went wrong and why after 800 people have died and “months under virtual house arrest”.

Premier Daniel Andrews has finally green-lit the opening of retail, restaurants, hotels and cafes from Wednesday after Melburnians spent weeks in lockdown while case numbers were extremely low.

“Daniel Andrews will expect us to be grateful for the modest easing of restrictions he announced late this afternoon but it's a long way short of normal life,” Ms Credlin said.

“At the heart of this snail's pace re-opening, is the sorry reality that Victoria's broken contract tracing system is still not fixed.

“I mean it's one thing to have let the virus escape from quarantine hotels, but to compound the catastrophic initial mistake with repeated systemic errors.

“Is there anything the Andrews Government has got right since the start of this pandemic?

“This time Daniel Andrews is hoping he can just spin or bully it away, but it won't work.

“This time, the game's up – I know it, he knows it it and so does the rest of Australia.”
