Tony Tasset "Artists Monument" Public Art In Chicago's Grant Park

Presenting Tony Tasset's "Artists Monument". While I was strolling around Chicago's south loop taking in the street art of the Wabash Art Corridor I went over to Grant park to see what was going on there. I found this gigantic piece of public art. It contains the names of almost 400,000 artists. Mr. Tasset has been a professor at the University of Illinois, Chicago for more than 27 years.

It's location is at the south end of the park on one side is Augustus Saint-Gaudens and Alexander Phimister Proctor's statue of general John A. Logan. On the other side is Polish sculptor Magdalena Abakanowicz's monumental sculpture Agora which consists of 106 nine-foot-tall headless torsos made of cast iron.

ChiTownView has a playlist with clips of both those works along with other public art in and around the windy city. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4125D5814CA7A9E3
