Central Furniture Store, Vintage Neon Sign, Chicago Illinois

Central Furniture on N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood is gone. Their classic neon / chaser sign lives on in this video that I shot in 2013 and never posted. Until now.

I am very excited about my collaboration with the Neon Museum of Philadelphia. They will be presenting my photos and video as part of their multi-media programming. We will also be working together on their archive to present what we hope to be the largest digital collection of neon video and photography. And oh by the way the museum is about a whole lot more than just a trove of signs. We will be exploring the related but larger subject of American "roadside culture”.
