Riverwalk Gateway By Ellen Lanyon, Chicago History

Chicago has created a park where there was once nothing but river. Riverwalk Park starts where the Chicago River meets Lake Michigan and wends it's was along the south side of the river to Wacker & Lake Street. It cost millions of dollars and is pretty neat.

There is a tunnel where the walk goes underneath Lake Shore Drive and this is where you find this bit of public art called Gateway created by Ellen Lanyon. It is a series of mosaic panels that trace Chicago's development and it's relationship to the river.

The music is called “Purpur” composed by Misha Dioxin whose music can be found at the Free Music Archive site. http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Misha_Dioxin/
