(29) Sgt. Robert "Bob" Weber, 17th Inf. Regt..wmv

81 year old Bob Weber is another of the video interviewees for our 3 1/2 hour video documentary entitled "Men of Truth and Courage in a 'forgotten war;' the 17th Infantry in Korea. He enlisted in the Army in 1951. He volunteered to go to Korea in the spring of 1952 which was online somewhere north of Seoul. He was assigned to B Company which was in an assault on a hill, and he was assigned as a rifleman, where he and his partner dug a foxhole. For him, it "was frightening." Believes that they took Pork Chop Hill in September 1951, which was taken back by the enemy. Ultimately he was assigned as squad leader and promoted to Sergeant. He estimated that they lost 50% of their platoon on Pork Chop Hill in 1952.
