Second Malaria vaccine recommended by WHO for use

The World Health Organisation has recommended the use of a second vaccine to treat Malaria.

Two years ago, it advised the broad use of the world's first malaria vaccine, RTS-S.

It's now recommending a second vaccine called R21/Matrix-M.

The second vaccine is to prevent Malaria in children at risk of the disease.

The vaccine will be available by mid-2024.
