Modeling Real Losses & Intervention Strategies: Multi-Agent Leak Simulation - Kris Williams

What lessons can we learn about leakage management from modeling techniques used to explore other natural phenomena like the coronavirus and even predator prey relationships? During this presentation, we will share findings from a multi-agent simulation developed to evaluate leakage recovery strategies and the economic level of leakage. The E Source Leak Simulation Model allows system managers to systematically evaluate the optimal selection of leakage recovery strategies like manual acoustic leak detection, acoustic noise loggers, satellite leak detection, and others in a single integrated environment. Critical elements of real loss management will be explored, including impacts on system-wide loss rates, required levels of effort, and cost effectiveness.
