The knowledge of leak noise and Active Leakage Control case studies in China - York Yuxi Wang
Although water leak detection activities in China mainland started as early as in 1970s, the awareness of ‘Active Leakage Control’ hasn’t been fully understood till entering the millennium. In fact, we as the ‘IWA China Water Loss Task Force’, are still promoting why actively control the leakage is essential for Chinese water utilities.
This presentation will cover four sections:
1. The knowledge of leak noise and its relationship with other parameters
2. A summary all the conventional (acoustic ways) and unconventional (NB-IOT loggers, Sahara, Satellite, etc) detection approaches used within Chinese water utilities in current days.
3. Case studies on resolving the tricky detection situation (large diameter, non-metallic, ‘pool leak,’ etc.).
4. Cases studies on ALC projects from Chinese water utilities.
