High Value Leak Detection - Mike Wrigglesworth / Ian Rogers

Leading utilities now include large diameter trunk mains in their NRW programs. These large pipelines are critical components of any network and can contribute to a large percentage of water loss in a system. However, traditional techniques are known to have limitations for large diameter mains and inline tools are the only way to find leaks of all sizes.

Since large pipes are known to leak before they burst, detecting all leaks along the length of a main is important to reduce water loss and also to help prevent failures.
Leaks on large pipelines are therefore ‘high value leaks’, and they justify the use of advanced inline inspection tools to give utilities confidence to address all leaks (big and small) as part of NRW and Condition Assessment programs. Inline tools have been successfully deployed around the world including thousands of kilometers of critical mains in Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa. This webinar will include case studies from these regions and information on how these solutions have been successfully deployed.
