Royal Albatross ~ A Scary Moment! A Juvie Bites QT's Neck! QT Spills It Stomach Contents Out 3.26.22

Four young juvenile albatross came to the Quarry Track nest to engage with one another and to socialize. QT did really well clacking as the walked by and holding its own. They pretty much ignored QT and were more interested & curious about one another and interacting. As they started to leave, one suddenly bit QT on the neck which cause it to suddenly spill its stomach contents out all over at 7:54. This defense mechanism of spilling was effective in stopping any further action and the juveniles walked away. I included the spill in slomo as well as regular time.

It looked like QT vomited up krill from YRK's feeding earlier today. It is unfortunate and not very common to see a chick spill but it must have been a very frightening experience. QT seems to be all right and is one very brave chick! Thank you for watching!
