Royal Albatross ~ LGL Returns Home! Wants Her Egg Time But Has To Wait For LGK To Get Up ♥ 1.12.24

LGL had a beautiful arrival flying in to Top Flat and LGK greets her with skycalls. She comes over to LGK and sits down and they preen one another. LGL had to wait a long time for LGK to get up for the changeover. She tries to get in there every time LGK rises but then he sits back down and she is disappointed. She tries nudging him, bumping him, putting her paddle on him, sitting right next to him & continuing to inch closer but to no avail. Every time LGK got up, LGL was right there looking at the egg and her longing to incubate was so strong. But in true albie fashion, the incoming partner has to be patient and wait for the incubating parent to get up off the egg.

LGK finally did get up off the egg for the changeover and LGL immediately went to incubate the egg - 30 minutes after she arrived. The dedication and love these albie parents have for their one egg is heartwarming and so inspirational. Their joy will be complete when the chick hatches in about 15 more days! ♥ LGK stayed around the nest because there was little wind for lift off. He ends up spending the night sitting right next to LGL. Thank you for watching!
