Here's a great riff by the band TNT called "Ready To Leave." This is from the bands debut album from 1984 'Knights Of The New Thunder' which is a fantastic slice of 80's metal!

The band is led by vocalist Tony Harnell and guitarist Ronni Le Tekro.
The riff is fun to play and not actually that difficult with some practice. It's a great riff to work to bolster your rhythm chops. For the chorus riff you can hear some clean overdubs of "chimey" ringing notes. This is something TNT always does a great job with in layering their guitars.
