In 1991 Skid Row released "Slave to the Grind" which was much heavier and aggressive than their self titled debut. But the album contained some great ballad material as well. In this lesson we are taking a look at the guitar solo to "Wasted Time" as played by Skid Row guitarist Scotti Hill. Singer Sebastian Bach seemed to get all the headlines for his incredible voice and off stage antics, and as a result guitarists Scotti Hill and Dave "Snake" Sabo didn't always get the credit they deserved. Scotti in particular has some of the most melodic and memorable solos in hard rock history.

There is some tasty phrasing here in addition to cool use of chromatic notes, tremolo bar dips, harmonics, and emotional string bending. This is a great solo to work on to improve your own self expression!
