This is DAY 25 of my month long series "30 Eighties Metal Riffs In 30 Days."

Although I don't necessarily think of Michael Schenker when I think of 80's metal, the truth is that Michael's best albums came out in the early to mid 80's.
The riff we are looking at today is "Attack Of The Mad Axeman" from MSG's 2nd full length album from 1981. The tune starts with a mini lead solo which I've included here and then bursts into the killer, funky main riff.

During this era Michael was creating some of the best riffs and tunes in hard rock/metal history. "Attack Of The Mad Axeman" is definitely one of those!
