2020 Chevy Bolt EV Road Trip Pt. 4: TX to VA in a Day?

A big drive day (and a half) as we venture out of Texas for part four of this road trip from Boston to Austin and back in a 2020 Chevy Bolt EV.

The way down was quite balanced, with around 700 miles per day, but the rush was on to get all the way East as a new work week started following a busy weekend at #FullyChargedUSA. As you might have seen in part three - here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeUhZ07P8P4 - we started out early Monday morning and cranked out a couple hundred miles to get past Dallas before rush hour. We rejoin here in Mt. Pleasant, TX, ready to hit the road and haul bottom across Arkansas, Tennessee, and all the way up through Virginia.

As you might expect, the vast majority of charging over 10 DCFC sessions is conducted on Electrify America network, although we do also get to enjoy a pleasingly positive experience with dealership charging as well. The EA sites are more diverse this time out, covering various retail options and even a classic old country store that was one of the first 10 sites activated by the network. Watch to see how reliability holds up and some of the lessons learned as we push on across the country to get back for work on the East coast.
