Firefighter's Death Leads to Changes in Asheville Fire Dept.

The death of an Asheville firefighter leads to changes within the department. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health released a report with 15 recommendations. This after an investigation into Captain Jeff Bowen's death. Bowen died fighting a fire at an Asheville medical building fire last year. The report focuses on three areas: training, span of control and deployment strategy. The Asheville Fire Department says they have already implemented some of the strategies.
