Freestyle Kayaking World Championships

Some of the world's best paddlers are in the mountains this week. The Nantahala Outdoor Center in Bryson City is hosting the International Canoe Federation's (ICF) Freestyle World Championships. Competitors use special kayaks to flip and spin in whitewater. The NOC says they estimate about 10,000 spectators per day will attend. The event runs from Sept. 2-8.
