GLORIA GAYNOR I Will Survive TOM MOULTON MIX

One of the most recognized songs from the disco era and one of its biggest sellers. Gloria Gaynor's 'I Will Survive' wasn't initially the first single to be issued from her 1978 LP 'Love Tracks'. It was the cover of 'Substitute' which had 'I Will Survive' on the B side that came out, but disc jockeys flipped the song and discovered how powerful and popular that B side was - and voila - a million selling, Grammy winning recording! As disco was at its peak, Gloria Gaynor had been on the genre's wave since her 1974 release 'Never Can Say Goodbye' and so her two best known recordings book-end the rise and fall of disco, with saturation point reached by the end of the decade, and a backlash followed, but dance music simply went underground or reinvented itself into the new decade. Tom Moulton who had brilliantly sequenced Gloria's debut 5 years earlier, has done another superlative job remixing this anthem and I have re-edited two of my pic clips of the song and posted the Tom Moulton mix of 'I Will Survive'.
