How To Make The Most Tender Pot Roast Recipe | Easy Dinner Recipes | Cooking Up Love

Our Tender Pot Roast Recipe comes out of the oven meltingly tender in just 3 hours, with a rich, delicious beefy flavor. This recipe couldn't be easier! After a quick sear, it's slow cooked at 275 degrees on a bed of classic roast vegetables. Don't be surprised when your family comes back for seconds, then thirds! Make your favorite people very happy with this simple and unassuming pot roast dinner!

How to slow cook a roast in the oven
If you've ever tried to prepare an oven pot roast and had it turn out tough, this recipe will show you how to slow cook a roast in the oven. For perfect pot roast, oven temp is kept low, around 275.

Tender Pot Roast Recipe Ingredients
1 3 - 4 lb beef chuck roast
1 medium yellow onion
3 - 4 stalks celery
3 - 4 large carrots
Salt & Pepper
1 tablespoon avocado or olive oil
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary

Tender Pot Roast Recipe Directions
Preheat the 275 degrees. Cut the celery in three inch pieces. Peel the carrots, and cut into 3 inch pieces, halving the larger carrot top pieces. Peel and quarter the onion. Set aside the vegetables.

Trim the pot roast, removing any thick, dense areas of fat. Season thoroughly on all sides with salt and pepper.

Add about a tablespoon of avocado or olive oil to a large oven safe pot, like a dutch oven. HEat over medium heat, and when the oil is hot, add the roast and sear until all sides are browned, about 4 -5 minutes per side. Transfer the roast to a plate.

Add the chopped vegetables and stir. Cook the vegetables for a few minutes, then add 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme and 1/4 teaspoon of dried rosemary. Stir.

Layer in the pot roast on top of the vegetables. Cover and cook in the preheated 275 degree oven until the roast is tender, about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. As the roast cooks, it will release it's juices, and your tender pot roast will have an incredible flavor. The meat will be falling apart tender, and the vegetables will be soft but not mushy.

Pot Roast Oven Temp
The key to the most tender pot roast recipe is slow cooking the pot roast in the oven at a low temp. Preheat the oven to 275 degrees and slow cook the pot roast for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
