CARO EMERALD No Charge + Tell Me How Long

What to do on a dreary Easter weekend in the middle of a virtual lockdown? Create a clip of my favourite diva from the last decade! Dutch singer Caro Emerald entered my radius 9 years ago to the month when 'Back It Up' appeared on a music clip show on TV and i was dazzled by the images as well as the sound. Straddling many genres at once and stylishly retro and distinct, Caro has been a familiar and welcome accompaniment for me along the travails of a turbulent decade in my life. The two songs i have segued here are additional tracks from the deluxe edition of her sophomore album 'The Shocking Miss Emerald' from 2013. Sadly no third album has yet arrived from the vocalist, but some itinerant singles and for me, as many performances from youtube that I have been able to turn into mp3's and clips to share with my regulars. I live in hope..... These two recordings are quintessential Caro - with the morphing of genres such as Jazz, Pop and R&B. I hope that these songs bring a little ray of sunshine for all who see and hear it, during these catastrophic times. Peace Out!
