They have found that over a period of 24 years, major officials are responsible for accepting up to $150 million in bribes. They’ve also been accused of rigging elections and using the bribes to allocate tournaments. In fact, it is alleged that former vice president of FIFA Jack Warner accepted a bribe from the South African government, totalling $10 million, over the hosting of the world cup in 2010.

Prosecutors are also currently inquiring into the legality of the 2018 and 2022 world cup bids in Russia and Qatar respectively.
