What Is Going On In Baltimore?

In Baltimore, a state of emergency has been declared as city wide riots continue. In early April, of this year a young African American man Freddie Grays, was detained by police officers.
What happened next, no one really knows All that we do know is that Mr. Grays struggled and fought back against the police officers as they tried to hold him down. Not long after he arrived at the police station, Grays was declared dead. His spine had been broken.

Hours after the incident occurred, some African American teenagers started violently protesting against the police, by throwing rocks and setting building and vehicles alight. The Mayor of Baltimore, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, has described the rioters as “thugs”, and other politicians have also condemned the riots.
