Tesla Gigafactory Texas 9 May 2021 Cyber Truck & Model Y Factory Construction Update (07:30AM)

Gigafactory Texas on 9 May 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!
Happy Mother’s Day! Despite the holiday and being a Sunday, the site was active on many fronts. The weather mostly cooperated despite lower clouds and some winds, but otherwise was a great day to fly and get some low-level and closeup shots!

Here are the highlights from today's video:
- Busy on the far west side. New entrance and roadway under construction, storm water pipes being installed, grade raising and water management plan becoming apparent, hills and ponds being removed and a lot of work on the new foundation!
- At the south end near the water detention pond, we see the new roadway coming under the bridge and then branching into a “Y”, with one road going north and the other east. More of the pond is being filled and the shape of the large detention pond is being changed.
- The SW footing area is showing more perimeter grade beam work, more footings and cranes being re-arranged in prep to work this week. The biggest limiting factor at this point is the amount of steel parts … need more deliveries!
- The central open area and big excavation pit may now become the Drivetrain manufacturing area, per recent on-site sources … but this needs to be further confirmed. The big pit now has column footings (spaced for steel columns) as well as where concrete water vaults will be installed.
- The East structure (aka Body-in-White) now has very large robotic assemblers getting ready for installation on eh ground floor, and more equipment is moving inside. Wall panel installation on the east and west sides continue to progress.
- The battery cell steel structure is now almost completed, with the entire north end connected to the perimeter grade beam. Only a few steel parts remain to be installed! What an amazingly quick effort they have completed!
- The paint shop “alley” shows more in-progress installation of the Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) system installation and we are able to fly at a low level and check out more of the overall installation including inside the Battery Cell structure.
- Over on the east side, more GeoPier work underway along the entire length of the new foundation and what appears to be continued efforts to widen it to the west. It also appears a new water detention pond may be in the process of being installed and we get low to see the grade differences.
- The Northeast clearing area continues to grow larger, and we fly lower over this area and follow the roads into and out of the area. Still uncertain of the purpose of this area.
- North of the Old Plant we see the water detention pond getting trenches around the entire rim and in the center of the floor area … uncertain what this will become.
- Finally, the Harold Green road relocation effort continues, and we see a completely new entrance and access area near the highway. Two major lanes, one for heavy vehicles and equipment deliveries and the other for vehicles.
