Gigafactory Texas on 5 May 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!
Great day to fly at Giga Texas! Sun shining, extremely clear visibility and activity everywhere! Two new foundations emerging on both sides of the highway, which is awesome to see as it shows Giga Texas is getting bigger!
While I was flying, one of the contractors that works on the site came up to me and told me he appreciates the videos because it allows him to see what is going on all over the site (he only sees the main foundation area) and that he can share what he does via the videos with his daughter!
In this video, we discuss the green walls that are popping up allover Giga Texas. What are they, why are they using green and is this the final look, or will there be something else put over these? Hopefully, you will enjoy this discussion and learn a bit too!

Here are the highlights from today's video:
- On the west of the highway, a lot of activity forming a new foundation as well as installing water pipes. What looks to be a road that connects to the west road 9Hwy 973), under the bridge and to the main factory is under construction as well. Other land clearing, industrial mulching and more land reclamation is underway as well.
- On the south side near the large water detention pond we see more pond filling, clearing and other land preparation work.
- On the east side, one of the old houses has been removed. More likely to follow soon.
- The stamping machine structure is getting the last parts of the roof final weatherproof materials installed as well as work to install the rainwater collection and management system.
- The east Body-in-White structure is getting green USG wall panels installed on the west side, more concrete external panels on the east side and more roofing materials.
- The casting machine area shows more assembly of the second casting machine and roofing materials have been lifter onto the roof.
- The paint shop continues to have materials and equipment moved into the ground and second floors and another roof vent was installed. The Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) system installation on the west “alley” side continues and is mostly completed now.
- The big excavation pit south of the paint shop is now mostly dry and work on the floor area has resumed.
- The west structure continues to grow to the south, more sample glass windows installed on the temporary stand on the west side, masonry work around stairs and elevators continues and a lot of equipment and materials continue moving into the four floors.
- The NW steel structure (Battery Cell area) has grown again to now be well-north of the foundation corner bend and the entire structure is now three or less sections from the north perimeter grade beam.
- On the east side, a foundation for the battery cathode plant is getting Geotextile membranes and aggregate spread out to prepare for future construction. Ponded rainwater is being removed quickly to allow further construction.
- On the far northeast side, the new clearing area has grown larger and now has a road access to an even farther north pond. Trees are being removed and dirt excavated and transported to other areas around the site.
- Harold Green road relocation efforts on the north side under the powerlines continues and is much more prominent now.
