Gigafactory Texas on 9 April 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!
What a busy and remarkably interesting day at Giga Texas this morning! When I arrived, I was amazed to see so much of the steel work in the northwest corner already up and all the cranes were busy lifting more by the minute. In just the hour and a half I was there, the structure grew very noticeably!
In this video, I provide a few news and other updates for Giga Texas, somewhat consolidating the most recent information I've heard into one spot. I also did a 30-day comparison of various locations around the site to show how much has changed in a short period of time. I hope you find this information helpful!

Here are more highlights from an exceptionally busy morning!
- A few dozen (perhaps more) trucks were lined up around the site waiting to unload a lot of deliveries, including steel parts, construction equipment, factory parts and equipment, and a lot of various types of materials.
- The battery cell area had all the cranes working at the same time and four large sections of the structure were already erected from the ground to the roof level nearest the wests steel structure. Also, more materials were being stacked and prepositioned in the area, now covering about half the distance from the west structure to the north. The northeast part of the perimeter grade beam was being completed and concrete applied.
- The roof of the paint shop and he north part of the body-in-white structure were getting the final insulation and waterproof membranes installed and the transition between the paint shop steel and casting machine concrete roof was being constructed.
- The east wall of the paint shop was about 75% completed covered with green wall material and the east side of the casting machine structure had about 45% of the concrete wall panels installed at the time of filming.
- GeoPier work was actively progressing in the northeast corner of the foundation, just north of the current casting machine structure.
- Water management corrugated pipes were being installed in ling sections just on the east of the structure and it appears that smaller diameter pipes are now being manufactured as seen at the mobile pipe mill.
- More land clearing on the far east side where the cathode and lithium hydroxide processing facility will be constructed. The ponds are nearly completely removed, and the area continues to become more level across the entire area.
- It appears that they may be preparing to make a diversion road to allow portions of Harold Green road to be lowered. There were excavations going on close to the pavement on both sides and what appears to possibly be a temporary road being made just north of the existing Harold Green road.
- The stamping machine roof appears to be at a holding point until the water management system and piping is installed on the east lower area of the roof ... capped drain holes were visible along this entire length
- More footings are being excavated and completed in the southwest footing field area. The general direction of all this work is to the south. They are now about two or three footings from where the south perimeter grade beam would be so much of the temporary storage, containers and workshops may need to be moved soon to allow work to progress.
