Gigafactory Texas on 18 April 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!
Happy Sunday! This is my make-up day for missing yesterday due to very windy conditions that made drone flying unsafe and, what a Sunday it was! The amount of change and progress in multiple areas across the site was amazing and I hope the video does justice to what all was going on. Amazing!
In this video, we look at some of the major events of the past few days on the site, including Elon's visit and an appearance by the Cyber Truck prototype which really looked at home all muddy and at Giga Texas! I hope you enjoy this big event wrap-up to start the video.

Here are highlights from today:
- On the far southwest side (across the highway) and continuing through under the south bridge and onto the south of the foundation area, a staggering amount of earth moving, land clearing and site preparation has taken place ... unbelievable change in about 96 hours!
- On the far east side, the land levelling and pond removal is expanding across the area and includes where Harold Green road was removed, and all of this is coming to a common grade. Soon the old houses will have to be removed it appears.
- In the casting machine area, we see continued unboxing and assembly prep for Giga Press #2 as well as preparations for another concrete slab pour between the casting structure and the paint shop. The underground gas pipe seems to be mostly completed and will soon be covered with fill dirt. I think this will allow the removal of the two Stabilis LNG tanks which would then allow GeoPier work to complete the footing prep for this area.
- The paint shop north end has about 50% of the exterior concrete wall panels installed and most of the interior walls on the east, south and west sides now have the green fire-retardant insulation installed. On the roof, the final materials have almost been completely installed and we see the first HVAC roof ducting get installed via crane this morning.
- In the battery cell area, we see tremendous progress erecting the steel structure, as it now nearly covers 50% of the area, progressing northwards. We also get a better look at the two bridge crane rails that have been installed as well as the amount of steel materials stacked and ready for installation.
- The west steel structure is growing to the south at an accelerating pace now that a lot of steel has been delivered and stacked for installation. Also, there is masonry construction around the stairwells beginning on the west side and the ramp now has the concrete pored for the drive surface. More roofing materials are arranged on the roof, ready for installation.
- Two kinds of wall panels are visible in the central area just south of the paint shop, the green panels on the paint shop and yellow prefabricated panels on the west structure. The excavation in this area has also grown larger and deeper.
- The footing field on the southwest side is nearing completion and the containers and temporary work area have been relocated farther north to begin allowing the last footings to be excavated and the south perimeter grade beam work to begin.
