Kidnapped beachgoer Cody Narine freed: Family overjoyed as 21-year-old returns home safely— home more than a week

Relief and gratitude have replaced fear for the family of Cody Narine, after the 21-year-old was released by his captors and safely returned home following a tense and uncertain ordeal.

Narine, of Aranguez, was reported missing in the early hours of March 18th, 2026 after he disappeared while liming with friends at Tyrico Beach. His sudden disappearance sparked alarm, particularly after witnesses claimed they saw a boat speeding away from the shoreline around the time he vanished.

In the days following, relatives endured mounting anxiety after receiving a video call in which Narine appeared bound, with individuals speaking in Spanish accents heard in the background.

The incident fueled fears of a possible cross-border kidnapping.
Details surrounding the circumstances of his release remain unclear, and authorities have not yet disclosed whether any arrests have been made.
