Tragedy at Penal residence— elderly man crushed to death.

A 77-year-old man lost his life after a structure collapsed on him at his Penal home on Monday morning.

Kenny Girdharie Harbuckhan, of Satnarine Trace, Clarke Road, was reportedly pinned under a wooden and galvanised structure shortly after 9:30 a.m.

Relatives said they heard a loud noise and, upon checking, found him trapped and unresponsive beneath the debris. He was pulled free with the help of family members and neighbours, but efforts by emergency responders to revive him were unsuccessful.

A District Medical Officer later pronounced him dead at the scene. His body was removed to the San Fernando General Hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem.

Police are continuing investigations into the incident.
