Driver shot while dropping off friend in Port-of- Spain.

A 30-year-old man was shot while driving along Piccadilly Street on Wednesday night.

Eche Daly of Belmont told police that around 10:10 p.m. on April 22, 2026, he was driving his Kia Cerato with a female friend when he stopped near the bottom of Calvary Hill to drop her off.

He reported hearing several loud explosions and immediately drove off. While approaching the Mango Rose traffic light, he felt a burning sensation in his back and later realized he had been shot.

The victim proceeded to the Besson Street Police Station, where officers took him to the Port of Spain General Hospital for treatment.
