FCC Warns Over 2,000 Voice Providers they are at Risk of Having their Voice Traffic Blocked

A new FCC Order is warning 2,411 domestic voice providers that they are at risk of having their voice traffic blocked if they do not rectify issues related to the Robocall Mitigation Database (RMD). As part of the STIR/SHAKEN rules, which require facilities-based voice providers to participate in call attestation to reduce Caller ID spoofing, all voice providers, regardless of whether they are facilities-based, are required to file a Robocall Mitigation Plan in the RMD. Those providers who have been notified have 14 days to respond, or the FCC will release another order pulling the provider's RMD certification. As part of the FCC's STIR/SHAKEN rules, all voice providers are required to block traffic from any voice service provider that is not in the RMD. #StirShaken #RoboCalls #FCC
