Former FCC Commissioner O’Rielly Weighs In on the FCC's New Push for Net Neutrality Regulations

Michael O’Rielly, who served as an FCC commissioner from 2013 to 2020, has weighed in on the FCC's new push to reimplement Net Neutrality regulations under Title II of the Communications Act. Like many opponents of new Net Neutrality regulations, O'Rielly points to the lack of issues in the five years since the regulations were removed, and he questions the new reasons the current FCC gives to bring the rules back.  In addition, he points out that implementing new regulations on broadband providers will be counterproductive to one of the reasons the current Commission is giving for resurrecting Net Neutrality, and that is to improve broadband service in rural areas.
