How to Make a Steakhouse Quality Steak | Food Fridays | Cooking with Nick
Love going to a steakhouse for that deliciously cooked steak, but don't feel like spending $60 on it? Let me show you how to EASILY make a perfectly made, steakhouse quality steak in your own kitchen for $5-$15. I use the reverse searing method usually (done in this video), and it makes the steak come out perfect every time. It may take some practice to get your steak to the correct temperature, but with enough practice, yours will come out as good as mine did.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 steak (new york strip used)
- salt
- pepper
- high smoke point oil (canola used)
- 2 to 3 garlic cloves
- Italian seasonings
- butter
TOOLS
- oven
- cast iron skillet
- basting spoon
- A TEMPERATURE PROBE (necessary unless you're a professional, seasoned chef who can tell what the inside of a steak looks like from the outside)
