Let’s see the keypoints of the handstand!:
1. Place your arms in shoulder-width stance, with forward looking, open fingers.
2. Form an arch with your hands, or bend your fingers as you see on the video. You can ensure a statically beneficial foundation for your handstand with both.
3. Lock your elbows, imagine to push the floor away from you.
4. Elevate your scapulas and shoulders, here too, imagine to push the floor as far as you can.
5. Open your shoulders, the shoulder flexion should be 180 degrees to your trunk.
6. Keep your head in line with your body.
7. Look at the floor, but don’t bend your head back, your uppers arms should be next to your ears. Close to your ears.
8. Maintain posterior pelvic tilt, squeeze your abs and glutes, activate your core.
9. Contract your quads, extend your knees completely, keep your legs closed.
10. Point your toes.
These are the keypoints of the handstand.
10 keypoints that if you pay attention to, you’ll be able to form a decent handstand.
But before the keypoints, it’s important to prepare your joints to have the right wrist mobility and strength, prepared elbows, shoulder mobility and scapula stability as well as core stability. Besides those, it’s worth to build up your handstand step by step with progressions to have the proper strength, so when you start practicing the balance, you won’t have issues with that.
