Maybe your attorney wants to practice his cross-examination strategies.
Maybe he hasn't been on trial in a while.
Maybe there's a strategy to cross-examining the doctor you sued when your lawyer questions him during his pretrial deposition.

The better question is, can I PRETEND to cross-examine the doctor during his deposition?
The answer is yes, I can.
Importantly, WHY would I want to cross-examine him during this examination before trial?

There are a number of reasons I might want to do that.
However, you should know that I will also want the doctor to answer many open-ended questions so he can explain what he did and why.

By cross-examining the doctor, I will ask leading questions and call only for yes or now answers. That limits the responses I get from him and doesn't fully allow me to understand his reasoning and motivation for doing what he did.

Watch the video to learn the reasons.

Then, if you want to learn about the times you are likely to be frustrated during your medical malpractice case, I invite you to watch the videos below.
