How to buy a Shinkansen ticket using your JR Pass (JR Green Pass)?

I booked my JR Green class train tickets from Sapporo Station to Shin Hakodate & Shin Hakodate station to Tokyo Station. I forgot to book my Tokyo to Shin Osaka Station train that day and booked it on the same day I rode the train back to Osaka.

This has been one of the best experience of my Japan solo trip! It felt like I explored Japan from Sapporo to Osaka in one day by looking out of the window for hours! 🚂

The 14 day Green JR Pass is definitely worth it if you take day trips all over Japan, think Osaka to Kagoshima station, Tokyo to Kakunodatemachi station, Osaka to Kanazawa, Osaka to Hakata, and this fun Sapporo to Shin Osaka train ride! Just make sure to buy a lot of ekiben, konbini snacks, and drinks for your train rides. Treat it like a giant sightseeing ride x picnic! It’s so fun! 🤩 🚄

If you are going from Tokyo to Osaka, make sure you book the D seats (Green Class) to have the view of Mt. Fuji from yoir window. E seats if you are in regular cars.

If you have layovers in train stations, make sure you have enough time in between rides so you can get some ekiben and snacks. If you are stopping by Tokyo station, make sure you have enough time to stop by Tokyo Ramen street inside Tokyo Station to get your ramen fix. A good variety of ramen to choose from! 🍜
