Turon is one of my favorites! It's a sweet version of lumpiang Shanghai and instead of using meat, we use fruits like Saba banana and jackfruit. It's usually made with brown sugar, wrapped in lumpia wrapper, then deep fried. My version calls for chopped roasted pistachio because I love that salt, extra crunch, and nutty flavor. You can change it up as well. You can add cinnamon, orange zest, and roll it in filo dough, brush some melted butter, then bake it in the oven until golden brown. Go crazy and make your own version.
